DIVA
Projekt DIVA zamišljen je kao multimedijalni lecture performance (predstava-predavanje) koji istražuje i razrađuje, u sociološkom i kulturološkom smislu, pojam diva. Radi se o svojevrsnoj demistifikaciji toga pojma. Inspiriran je zanimljivom studijom Richarda Dyera Heavenly Bodies u kojoj on obrađuje pojam zvijezde od početaka filmske industrije do danas, pri čemu propituje odnos privatnog/javnog, individue/društva, iskrenog/izmišljenog, tjelesnog/mentalnog. Zanima ga kako se postaje zvijezdom te što nju u percepciji publike čini slavnom i nedodirljivom, kakva je mašinerija (press, moda, marketing) koja ju stvara i koja je prava pozadina (istina) te industrije?
Predstava - predavanje zamišljena je kroz prezentaciju stvarnih podataka iz života diva koje su obilježile “zlatno doba” Hollywooda, kao što su; Mae West, Greta Garbo, Marlene Dietrich, Joan Crawford, Marylin Monroe, Ava Gardner, Bette Davis, Anna Magnani, Sophia Loren…
Što je to što nas fascinira kod diva i kako mi doprinosimo toj «velikoj iluziji»?



DIVADIVA
DIVA project has been conceived as a multimedia lecture performance which explores and elaborates, both in sociological and in cultural sense, the notion of a diva. It is a kind of demystification of that notion, inspired by the interesting study by Richard Dyer, Heavenly Bodies, in which the notion of the star is analyzed from the beginnings of the film industry until today, taking in consideration the relationship between private/public, individual/society, true/fabricated, body/mind. Dyer analyzes how someone becomes a star and what makes the star famous in the perception of the public, what is the machinery (media, fashion, marketing) that makes it and what is true background (the truth) of that industry.
This lecture performance has been imagined as a presentation of true data from the lives of the divas which marked the “golden age” of Hollywood, such as; Mae West, Greta Garbo, Marlene Dietrich, Joan Crawford, Marylin Monroe, Ava Gardner, Bette Davis, Anna Magnani, Sophia Loren…
What is it about the divas that fascinates us and how do we contribute to that “big illusion”?
